This Santa Monica kitchen and dining remodel began with a major layout change. Removing the load-bearing wall between the two spaces created a more open connection for cooking, dining, entertaining, and everyday movement through the home.
A flush structural beam was carefully coordinated so the new opening would feel intentional rather than interrupted by a dropped header. Structural planning, engineering, permitting, and construction details were addressed together before the finish work moved forward.
Contemporary custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, streamlined surfaces, and a dimensional backsplash give the kitchen a clean, polished character. The material palette keeps the space bright and refined while allowing the kitchen and dining room to feel like one cohesive environment.
