Santa Monica Contemporary Kitchen Remodel

This Santa Monica contemporary kitchen remodel transformed a closed-off layout into a bright, open concept kitchen and dining space designed for modern living. The primary goal of this project was to create a seamless flow between the kitchen and dining room while maintaining the structural integrity of the home.

The first step in this transformation was the removal of a load-bearing wall that previously separated the two areas. To safely achieve the open concept design, we installed a flush beam, allowing for a clean, uninterrupted ceiling line while ensuring the home remained structurally sound. This crucial upgrade not only opened up the space visually but also improved functionality and natural light throughout the main living area.

To create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere, we installed light-colored brushed engineered wood flooring across the first floor. This flooring choice adds warmth and brightness while offering the durability needed for everyday use in a high-traffic kitchen environment.

The cabinetry was designed to make a bold statement. Our team fabricated custom cabinets using dark grain, distressed wood, bringing depth, texture, and character into the space. To create contrast and enhance the contemporary aesthetic, we paired the cabinetry with a high-gloss white island that serves as a striking focal point and gathering area.

We selected a light-colored quartz countertop to complement the overall design. Its sleek appearance, durability, and low maintenance make it ideal for both daily use and entertaining. Completing the design is a 3D wavy backsplash tile, which introduces movement and visual interest while elevating the kitchen’s modern appeal.
